Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Geospatial Surveyor to join our team to support the delivery of a major industrial project in the Southampton area. You will work closely with Survey Leads, Project Managers, client teams and our office-based processing teams, playing a key role in capturing high-quality survey data to support successful project delivery. The role requires strong knowledge of core surveying principles, with a particular focus on traditional survey techniques, traversing and total station operation.
Please note, this is a 3 month fixed-term contract opportunity with the role being fully site-based in Southampton.
What You'll Be Doing
• Carrying out high-accuracy traversing, levelling and target observations using Leica equipment
• Operating NavVis VLX SLAM scanning systems to capture accurate point cloud data in line with project workflows
• Providing regular updates to project teams and completing required site documentation and reports
• Collaborating effectively with client teams and other contractors working within an operational industrial environment
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company and client health and safety requirements
• Supporting additional surveying activities and project requirements as needed
What We're Looking For
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a surveying role or relevant qualification in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Good understanding of surveying principles, including traversing, levelling and total station use
• Experience using Leica surveying equipment
• Experience working on-site within a construction, engineering or industrial environment
• Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A proactive approach with the ability to solve problems effectively and meet deadlines
• Experience with NavVis VLX/MLX systems would be highly desirable
• Full UK manual driving licence and CSCS card
