Plowman Craven is looking for a Senior Building Surveyor to lead and grow our building survey consultancy within the Asset Management division. We are a recognised leader in Geospatial Technologies, delivering high precision data and insight that supports major developers, property managers, contractors and engineering firms across the built environment. This role combines technical surveying expertise, client advisory work and service line development, offering the opportunity to shape and expand a growing consultancy capability. Internally you will be known as a Building Survey Consultant.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading and delivering building surveys across fabric, structure and building services
- Advising clients on appropriate survey scopes and methodologies
- Managing projects from instruction through to final reporting
- Producing high-quality reports supporting asset management strategies and technical due diligence
- Coordinating external survey suppliers to ensure quality and consistency
- Supporting proposals and client conversations through technical expertise
- Identifying opportunities to extend survey scope and add value
- Helping develop an in-house building survey consultancy capability
You’ll have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in building surveying
- Strong knowledge of building fabric, structure and building services
- Experience managing projects and engaging directly with clients
- Commercial awareness and experience contributing to fee proposals
- Strong reporting and technical communication skills
- Experience coordinating external consultants or suppliers
