As a Survey Assistant on a zero-hours contract, you’ll have the freedom to fit work around your personal commitments, while still gaining invaluable technical experience and exposure to real-world projects across London and the wider UK. This role is ideal for students, early-career candidates, or anyone keen to explore the survey profession without the constraints of fixed hours.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting surveyors on a wide range of projects across London and the UK.
- Assisting with data collection and processing using both traditional and cutting-edge survey technologies.
- Learning surveying theory, practical techniques, and the fundamentals of geospatial measurement.
- Helping manage project data from site capture through to delivery.
- Liaising with surveyors and project managers, ensuring work meets quality and safety standards.
- Gaining exposure to buildings, infrastructure, engineering and monitoring projects, including some of London’s most prestigious developments.
- Working flexibly, with occasional night shifts or travel depending on project needs.
What We’re Looking For
- Interest in surveying or related fields (Geospatial, Civil Engineering, GIS, etc.).
- Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence with IT applications and a willingness to learn.
- Flexibility around working hours, travel, and occasional night work.
- A UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- CSCS card (essential); PTS or similar clearances beneficial.
- Enthusiasm to grow a career within geospatial surveying.
