Role Overview

We’re looking for a Lead Surveyor to lead survey teams within Digital Construction - Property on various projects, combining technical oversight with project planning. You’ll support the Survey Manager in developing the team, maintaining quality and safety standards, and selecting the right technology and methods for successful project delivery.

This role would suit an experienced surveyor with strong technical knowledge who enjoys leading teams, developing others and coordinating project delivery.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the surveying and technical delivery of multiple projects, ensuring work meets client specifications and company quality and health and safety standards.

  • Review survey data against QA checklists before handover to authoring teams, arranging independent checks where required.

  • Line manage, mentor and coach junior surveyors and surveyors, supporting the Survey Manager in identifying skills gaps and setting development objectives.

  • Work with the Head of Survey to strengthen data collection and processing skills and introduce new survey technologies.

  • Select suitable survey methods and equipment, build realistic timelines and allocate resources to meet programme, quality and commercial objectives.

  • Work with Project Managers to coordinate subcontractors and monitor their technical quality and delivery.

  • Communicate progress, requirements and delivery issues clearly to clients, Project Managers and the Survey Manager.

  • Maintain organised and secure project datasets, following company requirements for file naming, storage and archiving.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong surveying experience, with sound knowledge of current instrumentation and methodologies.

  • Experience supervising or line managing survey teams and supporting colleagues’ technical development.

  • A successful track record of coordinating multiple projects, planning resources and meeting deadlines.

  • Experience reviewing survey data and deliverables against technical specifications and quality standards.

  • A practical understanding of health and safety requirements for survey teams.

  • Confidence communicating with clients, coordinating project teams and making informed decisions.

  • Experience managing large datasets in a structured way, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • The ability to build industry relationships with clients, suppliers and professional bodies would also be advantageous.
