We’re hiring an Instrumentation & Monitoring Technical Coordinator to join our Smart Monitoring team at Plowman Craven. This is a hands-on technical role focused on the delivery of monitoring and instrumentation systems, working across both site and office environments. You’ll play a key role in ensuring systems are installed, tested, and delivering accurate, reliable data.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Coordinating the technical delivery of monitoring systems across multiple projects
  • Supporting and sometimes leading installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting on site
  • Working with sensors, data loggers, telemetry, and automated monitoring systems
  • Ensuring systems are correctly configured and delivering accurate, reliable data
  • Acting as the technical link between Project Managers and site teams
  • Producing technical documentation and improving delivery standards
  • Identifying inefficiencies and helping drive continuous improvement

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in instrumentation, monitoring, surveying, or engineering environments
  • Strong site-based experience - this isn’t a purely office role
  • Hands-on involvement in installation, monitoring, or technical system delivery
  • Understanding of sensor-based monitoring systems and data outputs
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Experience with geotechnical or automated monitoring systems
  • Familiarity with telemetry, IoT, or data acquisition platforms
  • Basic scripting or coding (e.g. Python)
