We are looking for a Senior Technical Specialist - Surveying to strengthen technical standards and best practice across our surveying operations. This role offers the opportunity to influence methodology, improve workflows and provide expert guidance across complex projects.
Role Purpose
- You will play a pivotal role in maintaining and advancing surveying excellence across the business.
- Provide technical leadership for pure surveying methodologies and standards.
- Ensure survey outputs are accurate, robust and aligned with recognised best practice.
- Support project teams with technical guidance on complex surveying tasks.
- Improve consistency and efficiency in survey data capture and processing.
- Promote high standards of quality assurance across projects and teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership across total station and GNSS surveying methodologies.
- Define and promote best practice in survey control, data capture and validation.
- Review survey methodologies and outputs to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Support project teams with complex or high risk surveying activities.
- Lead improvements in survey data processing workflows and efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance on software including N4CE, SCC and Leica Infinity.
- Identify technical risks within survey methodologies and support mitigation strategies.
- Support technical discussions with clients where survey methodology is critical.
- Promote knowledge sharing and technical development across the business.
Skills & Experience
- Significant experience in surveying with strong grounding in pure survey principles.
- Chartered or working towards chartership with RICS or CICES.
- Experience working on major engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Strong practical experience with total station and GNSS surveying.
- Strong understanding of survey data capture, processing and QA processes.
- Strong technical credibility within surveying practice.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
- Interest in continuous improvement and technical innovation.
