Technical Writer - SaaS company

Location: Hybrid - 2 days per week in our Ballymena HQ, Co Antrim. Contract type: Permanent.

PlotBox is a leading SaaS company providing cutting edge solutions to the deathcare industry. As we continue to scale, we are looking for a talented Technical Writer and Content Specialist to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping our product documentation and content strategy. The Technical Writer will collaborate with the product team, customer success and delivery training team to create clear, concise and engaging technical documentation and content. This role demands strong technical writing, the ability to simplify complex information and creativity in creating compelling content that resonates with our customers.

What you will do:

• Technical Documentation
  • Develop, update, and maintain user guides, API documentation, onboarding materials, and knowledge base articles.
  • Translate technical concepts into clear, user-friendly language for developers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Work closely with engineers, QA teams, and product managers to ensure documentation accuracy and completeness.
  • Create release notes, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides for new product updates and features.
• Content Creation
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to produce blog posts, case studies, whitepapers, and thought leadership content.
  • Craft product tutorials, videos, and presentations to support user adoption and education.
  • Write engaging website content and SEO-optimized articles to strengthen brand visibility.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to produce content tailored to customer needs and pain points.
• Process Improvement & Tools
  • Establish and refine documentation standards, templates, and workflows to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Use tools like Confluence, Git, Markdown, or similar platforms for effective content management.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in SaaS, documentation, and technical writing.

What we are looking for:

• 3 years experience in technical writing.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Ability to synthesize complex technical details into simple, user-friendly language.
• Experience with tools like Confluence, MadCap Flare, Git, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with API documentation tools such as Swagger, Postman, or Redoc.

Desirable Experience: It's not a deal breaker, but ideally you will have:

• Knowledge of SEO and content marketing best practices.
• Experience gained within a SaaS or technology company.
