Tasks:
- Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients in complex litigation cases, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, to effectively support clients' positions in court.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop case strategies and anticipate potential outcomes.
- Collaborate with clients, witnesses, and other legal professionals to gather evidence and build strong cases for trial.
- Present cases in court, articulating arguments clearly and persuasively to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
Requirements:
- Qualified barrister with minimum 5 years PQE (England & Wales)
- Proven track record in criminal advocacy with substantial court experience
- Demonstrable expertise in private prosecution work
- Experience with fraud, regulatory offences, or serious crime
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
- Strong analytical ability to absorb and synthesise complex factual and legal material
- Knowledge of disclosure obligations and criminal procedure
- Ability to provide strategic, commercially-minded advice to clients
- Self-motivated with excellent time management and organisational skills
- Ability to handle pressure, tight deadlines, and multiple matters simultaneously.
Desirable Experience:
- Former CPS Grade 4 prosecutor or Treasury Counsel experience
- Experience with high-value financial crime, IP offences, or regulatory matters
- Direct Access qualification
- Experience in civil fraud or asset recovery
- International or cross-border prosecution experience
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks.
