The Role: Plexus is seeking a talented and driven individual to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the development and commercialisation of our innovative products, from concept to launch. As a Test Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and verification of test solutions for our products. You will utilize your engineering expertise and creativity to create robust and efficient test systems, ensuring the highest quality and reliability of our products. This includes:
- Developing innovative test concepts and designs using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Performing design creation, analysis, and verification.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the entire product life cycle, from conceptualisation to sustaining engineering.
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation in accordance with quality and change management procedures.
- Actively contributing to a Lean culture by applying Lean Sigma principles to identify and eliminate waste, and improve processes.
Due to the nature of project work we require candidates to hold U.K. nationality or to either have, or be able to go through, U.K. national security vetting and clearance.
About You: We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong understanding of the full product realisation process (Conceptualise, Design, Commercialise, Manufacture, Fulfil, and Sustain). You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possess a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Ideally, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in test design engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in LabVIEW and TestStand.
- Experience with automated test systems, functional testing, environmental testing.
- A solid understanding of Lean Sigma principles and tools.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
