The Role: Plexus is seeking a talented and driven Staff level Test Design & Development Engineer, to lead our growing team in the UK. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the development and commercialization of our innovative products, from concept to launch. As a Staff level Test Design & Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and verification of test solutions for our products. You will utilize your engineering expertise and creativity to create robust and efficient test systems, ensuring the highest quality and reliability of our products. This includes:
- Developing innovative test concepts and designs using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Performing design creation, analysis, and verification.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the entire product life cycle, from conceptualisation to sustaining engineering.
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation in accordance with quality and change management procedures.
- Actively contributing to a Lean culture by applying Lean Sigma principles to identify and eliminate waste, and improve processes.
About You: We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong understanding of the full product realisation process (Conceptualise, Design, Commercialise, Manufacture, Fulfil, and Sustain). You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possess a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Ideally, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in test design engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in LabVIEW and TestStand.
- Experience with automated test systems, functional testing, environmental testing.
- A solid understanding of Lean Sigma principles and tools.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Other Qualifications & Skills: You will have the ability to work in a Cross-Discipline team environment, understand Structured Design, and develop good working relationships with team members and customers. You should also be familiar with lab test/measurement equipment and lab tools.
