The Role
At Plexus Livingston, we don’t just build products; we build confidence. We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring that every sub-assembly and High-Level Assembly (HLA) leaving our facility meets our world-class standards. If you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for manufacturing excellence, we want to hear from you.
In this position, you will be the final line of defense in our production process. You’ll perform routine and repetitive inspection procedures to ensure quality levels remain high at every stage of manufacturing.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Visual Inspection: Use magnifiers and specialized tools to inspect PCBA and HLA products using lot sampling or 100% inspection methods.
- Data Integrity: Enter standardized quality information into our GSF system and maintain accurate digital records.
- Problem Solving: Participate in root cause analysis activities to help us improve our processes.
- Workplace Excellence: Maintain your work area according to strict 6S standards and escalate any production issues to supervisors immediately.
What You’ll Bring
We are looking for candidates who are willing to learn rather than those who are already highly experienced. If you have a High School diploma and basic computer skills, we’ll coach you on the rest—from reading blueprints to using precision measurement tools.
- Experience: At least 6 months of manufacturing experience (1+ years preferred). Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing (SMT/Backend) and/or working in cleanroom environments is a significant plus.
- Tech Savvy: Basic PC skills (Google Workspace/Windows) and the ability to learn Plexus-specific software.
- Dedication: You must be willing to complete and maintain Quality Assurance certification within your first six months.
- Attributes: Excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a steady hand for delicate components.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
You will work in a modern electro-mechanical manufacturing facility, with a focus on safety and comfort. This role requires:
- Physical stamina for long periods of sitting or standing.
- Strong manual dexterity and fine motor control.
- Acute near vision to work with cameras, magnifiers, and computer monitors.
- The ability to handle and manipulate PCBs (turning, flipping, and angling).
- Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment, adhering to all gowning requirements.
