THE ROLE

We are currently looking for a Quality Control Engineer. The emphasis of this role is ensuring product quality for complex electronic assemblies, through incoming inspection, in-process control, final inspection, and adherence to manufacturing and configuration processes. The role also supports continuous improvement of manufacturing quality processes and compliance. Full time role, within the Product Development and Manufacturing department. Office based in Great Chesterford, Essex.

Responsibilities

  • Incoming Quality Control – inspection of incoming goods to ensure compliance with quality standards, including verification of correct versions and traceability.
  • Monitoring adherence to manufacturing quality processes and identifying any deviations.
  • Ensuring configuration control compliance by verifying that the correct parts are built, with full traceability to permits and concessions.
  • Final inspection of outgoing products, ensuring accuracy of all associated documentation prior to release.
  • Management, tracking and recording of concession requests, ensuring appropriate documentation and control.
  • Inspection and processing of incoming returns items, including documentation, assessment, and control of rework activities.
  • Application of the non-conformance process, ensuring all non-conformances are correctly captured, recorded, and tracked throughout manufacturing.
  • Help ensure stock is correctly managed, controlled, and assigned to the appropriate product builds.
  • Supporting process development through review and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

The Person

  • Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment for complex electronic assemblies.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001) and configuration-controlled environments.
  • High attention to detail with a methodical and structured approach to work.
  • Ability to interpret and apply procedures, specifications, and quality requirements with minimal supervision.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to support root cause analysis and implement preventive actions.
  • A proactive, flexible attitude with the ability to manage multiple tasks and support continuous improvement activities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
