About The Role

The Payments platform is the backbone of not just our product but our company. Our payment solutions cover card transactions, wallet top ups, invoice payments, reimbursements, and more. Our goal is straightforward: to create payment experiences that customers love. Every transaction matters, and we’re here to make them seamless, reliable, and impactful. We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Payments team at Pleo. In this role, you’ll lead one of the payment engineering teams, helping us deliver solutions that make a real difference to our customers.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Drive results: Define and track KPIs to measure success, keeping your teams aligned with the company’s goals.
  • Solve complex problems: Tackle highly complex technical and business problems, considering a broad set of factors including risk, compliance, partner constraints, systems architecture, and customer experience.
  • Collaborate deeply: Partner with Engineering Managers and other stakeholders within Pleo to ensure smooth delivery and continuous improvement.

What you bring:

  • Have deep experience in the European financial services sector, particularly in account-to-account payments, e‑money accounts and financial ledger space.
  • Communicate with clarity and purpose, inspiring teams and aligning stakeholders.
  • Are comfortable rolling up your sleeves and working through technical and payment challenges with the team’s engineers.
  • Balance big-picture strategy with the ability to zoom in on day-to-day details.
  • Rely on data and customer feedback to guide decisions and prioritise effectively.
  • Being able to go into the details of API design, payment messages or whatever is required.
  • Are passionate about developing people and creating an inclusive, collaborative team environment.
  • Enjoy working in a fast‑paced, constantly evolving environment where challenges are opportunities.
  • Drive to stay hands‑on as an individual contributor, actively shaping solutions and leading by example.

Who you’ll be working with and reporting to:

You’ll report directly to our Product Director and work closely with the other teams in Payments. You’ll also partner with teams across Pleo to deliver lots of exciting new products and features for our customers.

How you’ll develop in this role:

In your first 3–6 months, map and validate the end‑to‑end customer journey and system flows for all payment products at Pleo, define and align the product strategy for your team, deliver and refine your roadmap continuously, and work closely with engineers to continue optimising ways of working. As you grow, scale your impact across other teams in Payments, build and mentor other product managers within Payments or Pleo, and play a key role in shaping Payments group strategy and how Payments contribute to the company growth target.
