Messy spend management is tricky business. And tedious processes are a lose‐lose situation for all involved, not just finance. At Pleo, we're changing that. We build spend solutions that make managing money seamless, empowering, and surprisingly effective for finance teams and employees alike—with a vision to help all businesses 'go beyond'. The word 'Pleo' actually means 'more than you'd expect', and living by that mantra has been the secret to our success over the last 10 years.

Now, we’re at a pivotal moment in our journey; every move we make has a direct impact on our 40,000+ customers, our business, and our collective success. We need people who take pride in uncovering customer needs, who turn complex problems into simple solutions, challenge the way things are done (respectfully), and always aim high.

About The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Technology Partnership Manager to join our Technology Partnerships team at Pleo. This is a senior individual contributor role with global scope and company‐level impact. You will operate as a technology owner of some of Pleo's most important technology partnerships, shaping how our platform connects within the Accounting, HRIS, and Travel ecosystem.

You will define, build, and scale partnerships that extend Pleo's product capabilities, unlock new use cases for customers, and support long‐term growth. The role spans the full partnership lifecycle and requires strong judgment across product, technology, and commercial dimensions. The role has high visibility and influence, with close collaboration and direct engagement with senior leadership, including the CEO. You will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy and act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders across the business.

Who You’ll Be Working With And Reporting To

You’ll report to our Technology Partnerships Lead and work closely with senior leadership, including the CEO, as well as teams across Product, Engineering, Commercial, and Partner Marketing. The partnerships team operates with a high degree of trust, autonomy, and ambition. You’ll be expected to act as a senior voice in the organisation while collaborating closely with peers across functions.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Set direction for technology partnerships across six markets, focusing on long‐term platform and ecosystem value.
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue partnership opportunities with meaningful strategic leverage for the business.
  • Lead complex partnership processes from early exploration through negotiation, launch, and ongoing evolution.
  • Define and articulate partner strategies and joint value propositions aligned with product vision, customer impact, and commercial outcomes.
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering leadership to influence integration priorities, technical scope, and roadmap decisions.
  • Drive alignment across senior stakeholders in Product, Engineering, Commercial, Legal, and Marketing.
  • Launch and scale partnerships with clear success metrics, ensuring sustained impact over time.
  • Act as senior owner for key partnerships, managing partner relationships and long‐term collaboration models.
  • Represent Pleo within the SaaS and fintech ecosystem, strengthening our technology positioning and partnerships.
  • Contribute to broader discussions on Pleo's platform strategy, ecosystem design, and long‐term growth initiatives.

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of experience in technology partnerships, alliances, or business development within SaaS and/or fintech.
  • A proven track record of leading high‐impact partnerships with tangible product or business outcomes and delivering on commercial targets.
  • Strong understanding of platform ecosystems, API integrations, and product‐centric partnership models.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate across strategy, execution, and relationship management.
  • Strong commercial judgment with experience negotiating complex partnership agreements.
  • Experience working closely with Product, Engineering, Legal, Sales, and Marketing teams.
  • A structured, self‐directed approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, high‐visibility environments.

Why is this role a good fit for you

This role is a good fit for you if:

  • You are a product‐minded commercial: you enjoy the intersection of technical API discussions and revenue‐focused negotiation, and can translate a technical integration into a compelling business case.
  • You have experience within ecosystems like Accounting, HRIS, Payroll or Travel.
  • You don’t just sign the deal; you enjoy managing the lifecycle—from sourcing the partner to ensuring the product team builds the integration and the commercial team sells it.
  • You are excited about traveling across Europe to meet partners and represent Pleo in the broader SaaS ecosystem.

This role is not a good fit for you if:

  • You want to focus only on closing deals without getting into the "weeds" of technical scope, APIs, and product roadmaps, this isn’t the right fit.
  • You are looking for a hybrid or generalist role. This is purely technology‐focused.
  • You are uncomfortable with ambiguity. If you need total stability and fixed structures from day one, this may feel too volatile.

How You’ll Develop In This Role

In your first 6 months at Pleo, you’ll:

  • Develop a clear view of Pleo’s partnership ecosystem and technology priorities.
  • Take ownership of key existing partnerships with significant long‐term potential.
  • Lead the formation of new partnerships with meaningful strategic value.
  • Influence product and platform direction through partnership‐led insights.
  • Establish scalable frameworks for sourcing, launching, and growing technology partnerships.

We’re committed to supporting your growth, whether that means expanding your technology scope, owning company‐level initiatives, or progressing toward broader leadership responsibilities over time.

Show me the benefits!

  • Your own Pleo card (no more out‐of‐pocket spending!).
  • Lunch is on us for your work days – enjoy catered meals or receive a lunch allowance based on your local office.
  • Comprehensive private healthcare – depending on your location, coverage options include Vitality, Alan or MĂ©dis.
  • We offer 25 days of holiday + your public holidays.
  • For our team, we offer both hybrid and fully remote working options.
  • Option to purchase 5 additional days of holiday through a salary sacrifice.
  • We use MyndUp to give our employees access to free mental‐health and well‐being support with great success so far.
  • Paid parental leave – we want to make sure that we’re supportive of families and help you feel you don’t have to compromise your family due to work.

The interview process

We want to ensure you are set‐up for success and understand what will be expected of you. If your application is successful, our interview process is as follows:

  • Intro call: A 30‐minute chat with our Talent Acquisition Partner to discuss the role and your background.
  • Hiring Manager Interview: A 45‐minute chat with the manager to deep‐dive into your experience.
  • Challenge & Team Interview: We will send you a take‐home test and invite you to present during a 60‐minute team interview. This is an opportunity to show us how you would handle the day‐to‐day of the role.
  • Bar Raiser: A final interview with a senior leader.
