Senior Frontend Platform Engineer

We’re on a mission to revolutionise the way businesses manage company spending. No more outdated processes, clunky spreadsheets, or frustrating delays—spend management should be seamless, empowering, and surprisingly effective for finance teams and employees alike. We’re creating tools that promote autonomy, foster trust, and let businesses focus on what truly matters.

Our culture is built on transparency, collaboration, and a deep commitment to innovation. At Pleo you’ll join a passionate team shaping the future of work, all while having some fun along the way.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Platform Engineer to join our Web Core team. This role is perfect for an engineer who enjoys supporting other engineers and learning about their most important pain‑points by working closely with them. You’ll be a force multiplier, enabling other engineers to do even better. If you’re excited about shaping frontend development and best practices for the engineering organization, unleashing the potential of internal product engineers, and making your colleagues’ lives better through building a strong platform and tooling, then this is the opportunity for you.

What you’ll be doing

  • Influence the long‑term vision and strategy of frontend development at Pleo
  • Improve the development experience of our engineers by enabling fast feedback loops and reliable CI infrastructure
  • Own core infrastructure, components, and tooling in our frontend platform that let product teams focus on building great experiences for our customers
  • Help build a community of people interested in frontend engineering across the company
  • Mentor, pair with, and support internal engineers

What you bring

  • Deep expertise in React and TypeScript, with experience managing monorepos and CI pipelines and working with testing frameworks such as Vitest
  • Have a pulse on the latest tools and trends in frontend engineering
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Bring a strong problem‑solving mindset and thrive on tackling complex challenges at scale
  • Enjoy coaching others and helping them grow as engineers
  • Are motivated by a strong passion to learn and continuously improve

Who you’ll be working with and reporting to

You’ll report to our Engineering Manager and work closely with product and platform teams across Pleo. Our team of five is highly collaborative and dedicated to influencing the long‑term vision of frontend at Pleo and improving the developer experience. You’ll also have the chance to partner with other engineers and departments to ensure success and continuous improvement in our processes and solutions.

How you’ll develop in this role

In your first six months at Pleo, you’ll:

  • Lead initiatives to improve internal developer experience, observability and frontend scalability
  • Collaborate with product and platform teams to improve processes and systems
  • Grow your expertise in distributed systems, taking on leadership opportunities and mentoring others
  • Contribute to Pleo’s mission by building tools that empower teams

We’re committed to helping you develop your career, whether that means taking on bigger projects, stepping into leadership, or acquiring new skills in platform engineering.

Please note: We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role in any of the listed locations you find in the job info.
