Organisation: Leeds Therapy Hub CIC

Location: West Yorkshire (primarily Leeds and Bradford in the first instance)

Rate: £40–£50 per 40-minute session. Additional rates apply for review meetings, and report writing. Travel expenses not included.

Hours: Variable – work allocated based on referrals, on an “as and when” basis.

Our dedicated team provides a range of therapeutic and holistic services to support social, emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs. Purpose of the Role: To provide Play Therapy to children and young people across West Yorkshire. Sessions may be delivered in schools, community settings, foster homes, healthcare centres, or online when required.

  • Delivery of Play Therapy
  • Qualified and experienced Play Therapist
  • Experience supporting children and young people with social, emotional, behavioural, mental-health and complex needs
  • Deliver individual and small-group Play Therapy (ages 4–16)
  • Work creatively, flexibly, safely, and in a child-centred way
  • Recent experience working with children with diverse, additional and SEMH needs
  • To deliver sessions online when required
  • Work effectively with children who are fostered or adopted, and their careers
  • Patience, resilience, a positive attitude, and a good sense of humour
  • Communication, Liaison & Relationship Building
    • Strong communication skills
    • Confidence in liaising with children, parents/carers, schools, and other professionals
    • Complement an established team and contribute to new ideas
    • Willingness to adhere to Leeds Therapy Hub CIC policies and procedures
  • Professional Standards, Safeguarding & Ethics
    • Enhanced DBS clearance
    • Commitment to regular Play Therapy supervision
    • Fully insured and able to provide proof of insurance and all qualifications
    • Commitment to your personal ongoing professional development
  • Organisation, Administration & Working Autonomously
    • Independently organise Play Therapy sessions and deliver these across a variety of sessions such as schools, foster homes, and community venues
    • Keep professional notes for each session
    • Monitor and assess children’s progress
    • Produce clear, professional reports
    • Attend review meetings and complete professional report writing
  • Practical Requirements
    • Work independently as a freelance Play Therapist on an “as and when” basis, depending on referrals
    • Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle
    • Willingness to travel across West Yorkshire
    • To have use your own Play Therapy kit/resources
