Position Overview
Role Overview: Sony Interactive Entertainment, the company behind PlayStation, is looking for an experienced Senior Recruiter to join our Talent Acquisition team.
What you'll be doing:
- Partner with hiring managers and senior leaders across Corporate, Technology and Engineering to understand their teams, priorities and future talent needs.
- Own full-cycle recruitment across a varied portfolio of roles, from initial intake and market mapping through sourcing, assessment, offer and close.
- Build hiring strategies rather than relying on applications alone, identifying where the right talent sits and how we should engage them.
- Proactively identify and engage passive talent, building relationships with people who may become future PlayStation employees.
- Act as a talent adviser to hiring teams, bringing market intelligence, candidate insight and external perspective into hiring decisions.
- Challenge hiring assumptions when the market tells us something different, helping teams balance ambition, availability, skills and speed.
- Recruit across a broad range of disciplines and seniority levels, adapting your approach to different talent markets.
- Create diverse, high-quality talent pipelines through direct sourcing, referrals, networking and other relevant channels.
- Run thoughtful candidate conversations that explore capability, motivation, career goals and alignment with the opportunity.
- Partner closely with HR, Compensation, Finance and other teams to navigate the full hiring process.
- Guide hiring managers through effective, consistent and inclusive interview and selection processes.
- Manage offers and negotiations, balancing candidate expectations, internal frameworks and business requirements.
- Use recruiting data and market insight to understand performance, identify challenges and improve hiring outcomes.
- Keep candidates informed and engaged throughout the process, including when the answer is no.
- Contribute to the wider Talent Acquisition team, sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues and helping us continuously improve how we hire.
What we're looking for:
- Significant experience owning full-cycle recruitment, ideally within a global technology, entertainment, gaming or similarly complex organisation.
- Experience recruiting across Technology or Engineering, combined with the ability and interest to recruit across broader Corporate functions.
- A strong track record of partnering with hiring managers and senior stakeholders rather than operating purely as a recruitment delivery resource.
- Confidence sourcing and engaging passive candidates in competitive talent markets.
- Experience managing multiple searches and stakeholder relationships at the same time while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
- Strong interviewing and candidate assessment skills.
- Sound judgement and the confidence to constructively challenge stakeholders when needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using applicant tracking systems and recruiting technology. Experience with Greenhouse is useful but not essential.
- A data-informed approach to recruiting, with an understanding of metrics such as pipeline health, conversion, time to hire and source effectiveness.
- A collaborative mindset. We operate as one Talent Acquisition team and expect people to share information, support each other and contribute beyond their own requisitions.
What will help you stand out:
- Experience recruiting across both Corporate and technical disciplines.
- Experience hiring software engineering or other specialist technology talent.
- Experience working within gaming, entertainment, consumer technology or another globally recognised, multi‑matrix brand.
- Strong talent mapping and direct sourcing capability.
- Experience advising senior leaders on complex or difficult‑to‑fill searches.
- An interest in games, entertainment and the technology behind the PlayStation experience.
Please note, Sony Interactive Entertainment conducts background checks at the offer stage for all new employees (which may include criminal background checks for some roles) and will need to process personal information to support these checks.
