Senior Director, Growth Marketing

The Senior Director, Growth Marketing is a strategic leader responsible for marketing our flagship Playstation Plus subscription service, and Playstation’s multi-billion-dollar D2C businesses, Playstation Store and Playstation Direct.

Reporting directly to the SVP, Marketing, this role is an integral part of the Playstation Marketing Leadership team and will oversee future growth initiatives at the intersection of digital services, experiences, or community.

This individual will lead a geographically dispersed team, driving world-class performance to ensure that it achieves its strategic objectives.

What you'll be doing

  • Performance Management
  • Maximize the revenue potential of Playstation DTC (Store / Direct) and Services (Plus) business lines.
  • Own bottom-of-the-funnel conversion strategies across business lines and measure performance against business targets.
  • Manage a globally dispersed team of growth marketers responsible for Play Station Store, Play Station Plus and Play Station Direct marketing, leading direction on strategy, processes, measurement, and performance.

  • Serve as the main lead of Marketing for the Store and Services business units, taking a key role on their leadership team by ensuring the full marketing offense – from insight to execution and evaluation – are strategically aligned and performed with excellence.
  • Lead Marketing input as the voice of the consumer on cross-functional strategic projects to create the future of Play Station’s direct to consumer opportunity, inclusive of future product development roadmaps.
  • Drive the development of the annual strategic plan and budget recommendations to fuel the growth and success of the D2C businesses and ensure annual revenue and business performance targets are met.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy
  • Lead go-to-market campaigns, with end-to-end accountability for targeting, positioning, and execution, with a strong focus on digital and performance tactics.
  • Leverage output from insights and analytics to develop a global view of Play Station Store & Services consumers that informs marketing strategy and plans.
  • Fuel the Playstation consumer flywheel to maximize player’s engagement and value.
  • Monitor player engagement and prioritize tactics to engage new players, retain existing player base, and reclaim inactive players on the platform.
  • Marketing Leadership
  • Develop strong working relationships with leaders across the Marketing organization and with global SIE teams, including Brand Marketing, International Marketing, Media, CRM, Marketing Technology, Marketing Analytics, Commercial Teams, Consumer Experience Product Marketing, Content, and Consumer Insights).
  • Balance global alignment with appropriate local and product-level flexibility, reinforcing a one SIE mindset while respecting market and portfolio needs.
  • Manage, recruit, develop, and retain a high-performance team that delivers against business goals.
  • Leverage understanding of cultural differences to influence actions and decisions.
  • Establish and maintain a positive culture built around open dialogue, mutual trust, respect, and accountability.

As you will be working closely with global teams, regular international travel may be required as well as a flexible approach to working hours.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising, or a related discipline. Master’s degree, MBA, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Proven 12–15+ years of progressive marketing experience, including significant leadership experience within gaming, entertainment, technology, e Commerce, or other high-growth consumer environments.
  • A strong track record of developing and leading data-driven growth marketing strategies across acquisition, lifecycle, retention, engagement, and performance marketing.
  • Deep experience within e Commerce-led businesses, ideally spanning both physical and digital products, services, or content.
  • Demonstrated expertise in delivering personalised, one-to-one consumer communications at scale, using customer data, segmentation, automation, and experimentation to drive measurable growth.
  • Strong understanding of paid media and performance marketing, with experience partnering closely with internal media teams and external agencies to optimise investment and business outcomes.
  • Experience developing or scaling subscription, membership, loyalty, and rewards programmes is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of consumer behaviour and digital engagement, ideally gained within gaming, entertainment, technology, culture, or youth-focused brands.
  • Genuine interest in gaming, entertainment, technology, and evolving digital consumer behaviours.
  • Accomplished people leader with experience building, developing, and leading high-performing, multidisciplinary marketing teams.
  • Strong commercial and analytical mindset, with the ability to translate customer, behavioural, and performance data into clear strategic priorities and investment decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and cross-functional leaders, align stakeholders around shared objectives, and drive decisions across complex global organisations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the judgement, adaptability, and leadership presence required to operate effectively in a fast-moving, highly collaborative environment.
