The role
The primary role is to support English and Japanese speaking PlayStation developers in their use of PlayStation development tools.
To support them, you will need to gain a thorough knowledge of the products and an understanding of the C/C++ code they are developing with the products.
This is a technical role that involves investigating and resolving developer problems. Additionally, over time you will meet with PlayStation developers to investigate problems, demonstrate products, and give presentations about our products in both English and Japanese.
The ideal candidate will be able to communicate technical issues clearly, be patient with busy developers and, above all, enjoy solving problems. You will also need strong account management skills to ensure all issues under your supervision are handled promptly and to resolution.
You will work closely with the product development team’s highly skilled programmers. You will also be part of a team of support engineers working together across different time zones, where sharing knowledge and information is essential.
What you’ll be doing
- Discussing technical issues with English and Japanese speaking PlayStation developers.
- Proven ability to translate and localizesoftware engineering requirements, specifications, and documentation between Japanese and English.
- Experience working with engineering teams preferred
- Investigating problems to reproduce them or find workarounds.
- Record and manage bug reports and feature requests.
- Translate technical conversations and materials between English and Japanese.
- Attend conferences to meet with PlayStation developers, demonstrate products, and present materials.
- Contribute to the production of training videos.
- Present product information to developers.
- Personal project time.
What we are looking for
- Must have: Computer Science or Computing related degree or at least 2 years practical experience of C/C++ programming.
- Microsoft Windows experience.
- Strong communication skills; a good standard of spoken and written skills in English and Japanese.

- Previous experience of supporting software products, including bug reporting.
- An understanding of how to use assemblers, linkers, compilers, performance analyzers, and debuggers.
