Role overview:
This position is for a temporary engagement through our staffing partner DZConneX (Yoh Services). The anticipated duration of this engagement will vary and will be a minimum of 12 months.
The PC Test Specialist will be responsible for defining PC Testing processes and procedures, with a focus on service improvement within the Functional Test Team. You will collaborate with representatives across Functional Testing, Compliance Testing and the Network, Compatibility, and Performance Lab to ensure consistent and repeatable processes are in place. You will have deep knowledge of PC platform requirements and will proactively share knowledge amongst the test teams to support the development of high-quality PC titles.
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide subject matter expertise and educate staff on PC operating system interaction, PC client functionality, and performance testing applied to multiplatform title development.
- Continued learning and development of subject matter expertise; provide training and guidance to test staff regarding PC OS and Hardware testing best practices.
- Directly interacting with Studios and Business Leadership to communicate strategy, risk, and product impacts.
- Gather studio requirements and expectations to help inform testing processes, tools and procedures.
- Define service strategies to support the testing of PC software.
- Training and development of Functional Test staff to ensure consistent service understanding and quality across products.
- Researching and documenting product defects and performance metrics.
- Applying knowledge of intermediate to advanced networking principles and PC, and gaming / functionality elements.
- Collaborating on test efforts and partnering with our Networking, Compatibility, and Performance Lab team.
- Promote new test strategies across project disciplines, including Functional Testing teams, Engineering groups, and other service providers.
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in QA Operations
- PC Games testing experience, supporting and releasing titles across a range of platforms like Steam, Epic, Origin, GOG, etc
- Understanding of PC gaming hardware and the associated technologies.
- PC building experience.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
Nice to have:
- Excellent general awareness of QA and games industry preferred.
- Expert level understanding of PC gaming hardware and the associated technologies.
- Strong experience / understanding of GPU video graphics cards and display resolutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience of process improvement/service management
