Role Overview

This position is for a temporary engagement through our staffing partner Yoh Services.

The anticipated duration of this engagement will vary and will be a minimum of 12 months.

We do require someone to be onsite in our Liverpool office for 5 days per week.

As a Test Analyst in Test Services, Play Station Studios QA you will work alongside our development partners providing bespoke developer support throughout the project life cycle.

What you’ll be doing

• Support development partners with

  • ‘Grey Box’ testing; working with the development tools and game engine.
  • Be an embedded member of the development team, build relationships and work closely with our development partners.
  • Own, lead & delegate tasks within your assigned feature area.
  • Use advanced test techniques, tools and automation.
  • Input into & influence feature level testing strategy.
  • Escalate risks & challenges to our partners and PSS QA Test Leads.
  • Liaise with the wider PSS QA team to support PSS QA Strategy.
  • Document & share project information from studio partners to test team.
  • Ensure best practice, processes and procedures are followed and adhere to them.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across other projects to share information and best practices.
  • Support a positive and inclusive environment across teams, studios & vendor partners.

What we’re looking for

  • Knowledge of the game development lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of game development terminology and concepts.
  • Proactive, able to communicate across different levels and disciplines.
  • Able to work very well collaboratively, you include and inform appropriately.
  • Able to work independently, without detailed instruction; you are capable of decision making, to set test activities and prioritisation.
  • Commitment to self-improvement; you want to learn more about game development and quality assurance.
  • Awareness of Risk, Mitigations and Escalation methods.
  • Accountability and willingness to ‘stand-alone’.
  • Able to gather information and provide feedback on features, vetting other people’s work and processes.
  • Lead by example, you will be representing QA every day to developers, producers and stakeholders, evangelise and champion Quality Assurance.
