The predicted salary is between 40000 - 40000 £ per year.

  • Salary: £35-40k per annum pro rata, dependent on experience.
  • Hours: Part-time, 21-28 hours per week. Flexibility in whether this is worked over 3, 4 or 5 days.
  • Contract Type: 6‑month fixed term contract.
  • Location: Edinburgh office (Hybrid or fully Remote within the UK).
  • Reports To: Finance Manager.

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Management Accountant to join our small, dynamic finance team for a 6‑month fixed term contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Month‑End Support: Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts, including processing accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Revenue Calculations: Calculation of deferred and accrued revenue.
  • Reconciliations: Reconciling customer payments efficiently within Xero.
  • Invoicing: Creating and managing customer invoices using our billing platform, Stripe.
  • Credit Control: Conducting proactive credit control and cash collection activities to ensure healthy cash flow.
  • Ledger Management: Managing the purchase ledger and processing supplier invoices accurately.
  • Other ad hoc tasks as required.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Required
  • Part qualified or fully qualified Accountant – willing to consider qualified by experience candidates.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor your style to different audiences.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and financial task execution.
  • Time Management: Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan ahead, work independently with minimal supervision, and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Deadline‑Driven: Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight month‑end deadlines without compromising on accuracy.

Desirable

  • Hands‑on experience using Xero and/or Stripe.
  • Prior experience working within a small, agile accounts or finance team.
