About the Role

Position: Childcare Apprentice

As an Apprentice Educator you will work within the nursery team, support the learning and development of children, and study towards a Level 3 Childcare qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the ethos of the nursery, providing a warm, welcoming and stimulating environment.
  • Support senior and qualified practitioners to ensure well‑being, care and learning of all children, including those with additional needs.
  • Assist with planning and preparation of activities tailored to children’s individual needs.
  • Communicate with parents and negotiate working targets to maintain effective communication within the nursery.
  • Provide learning experiences that challenge and support children’s confidence and independence.
  • Nurture positive relationships and role‑model positive behaviour, promoting emotional well‑being, confidence and self‑esteem.
  • Record observations, assessments, monitoring and keep learning and development records to inform planning.
  • Supervise meals and mealtimes, and prepare food/bottles for babies as appropriate.
  • Adhere at all times to Allergies & Allergic Reactions Policy and Sleep Policy.
  • Promote inclusion and equality policies and procedures.
  • Work as a reliable, co‑operative team member with flexibility.
  • Work flexible hours as requested by the manager.
  • Carry out any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the Nursery Manager and The Company Directors.

Qualifications

  • Desired GCSE English Language 4
  • Desired GCSE Mathematics 4
  • Administrative skills, analytical skills, attention to detail, caring, communication skills, creativity, customer care, friendly, initiative, IT skills, logical, maths and English, non‑judgemental, number skills, organisational skills, patience, physical fitness, presentation skills, problem solving skills, teamwork, understanding.
  • Training Outcome

Progression towards a Level3 Childcare (Early Years Educator) qualification through the REALISE LEARNING AND EMPLOYMENT LIMITED apprenticeship programme.

Working Arrangements

Working Week: 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, shifts to be confirmed. Expected duration: 1 year 2 months.
