About the role

Playdale Playgrounds Ltd, based in Haverthwaite, Cumbria (LA12 8AE), is an international company operating in 50 countries that designs, manufactures and installs fun, exciting, and educational outdoor playground equipment.

Due to continued growth we are expanding our Timber Production Team and are looking for enthusiastic Production Operatives who wish to undertake the L3 Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship standard to gain valuable experience working in a fast‑paced workshop environment.

Responsibilities

  • General assembly skills and/or experience in joinery/woodworking.
  • Accurate assembly by understanding specifications, reading drawings and works orders.
  • Demonstrate the safe use of machinery and hand tools.
  • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
  • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Great concentration and precision, aiming for a "right first time" approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, self‑motivated and organised in planning and managing workload.
  • Flexibility and a "can do" attitude.
  • Manufacturing & assembly experience (desirable, but not essential).
  • Ability to undertake manual handling duties.
  • Willingness to improve efficiencies and reduce waste through a continuous‑improvement environment.
  • Ability to work on own initiative or with others on tasks with minimum supervision.

These are full‑time apprenticeship positions based at our Haverthwaite factory (38 hrs per week) with day release to college.
