Up to 40 hours per week Term Time Only | Fixed-Term Contract (September 2026 – July 2027)

What you'll be doing

  • As an Intern Student Support Assistant, you'll be helping our students achieve their goals within one of our onsite Residential Houses.
  • Encourage students to develop their independence and confidence.
  • Assist with specialist equipment.
  • Work closely with a range of professionals as part of a friendly multidisciplinary team.
  • Support with personal care, including washing, dressing, bathing, toileting and personal hygiene.
  • Assist with mealtimes, preparing snacks and supporting nutritional needs.
  • Help keep accurate records and contribute to individual support plans.
  • Create a safe, positive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive.

No previous care experience is required—we'll give you all the training you need.

Who we're looking for:

  • We're looking for enthusiastic, caring people who are ready to learn.
  • You'll ideally have GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent).
  • A genuine interest in health, social care, education or supporting young people.
  • Great communication and teamwork skills.
  • A willingness to learn and get involved.
  • Compassion, patience and reliability.

This role is especially suited to students or recent graduates from Health & Social Care or related courses who want practical experience before progressing into careers such as nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, teaching, psychology or social work.
