Junior Social Video Creator (Off-Road) – Location: Bath, UK (Office-Based). Reporting to: Production Director. Focus: GMBN, EMBN, and Off-Road Tech Channels.
Do you live for the trails? Are you the first to know when a new bike drops or a pro “sends it” on a world-class line? Play Sports Network is looking for a Junior Social Video Creator to join our team in Bath. This is a dream role for a mountain bike obsessive who understands that a 15-second Reel can be just as impactful as a 20-minute documentary. Reporting directly to the Production Director, you will be the creative engine behind the social presence of GMBN (Global Mountain Bike Network) and EMBN (Electric Mountain Bike Network). You won’t just be editing; you’ll be defining how the off-road community consumes content on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts. We offer a fast-paced, development-focused environment. We’ll provide the training, but we expect you to bring the passion, the technical spark, and the “social-first” mindset from Day 1.
As a Junior Social Video Creator, you are responsible for delivering daily, high-quality video content across our off-road social media channels. You will work within a world-class production team to ensure our content is entertaining, informative, and perfectly optimized for the platform it sits on. While your focus is Off-Road, you’ll be part of a wider team that scales to support all PSN channels.
Responsibilities- Social-First Production: Create, shoot, edit, and produce vertical videos (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) that resonate with the MTB and E-MTB community.
- Content Mining: Identify "hero" moments from long-form GMBN/EMBN YouTube episodes and re-version them for cross-platform success.
- Technical Agility: Respond quickly to short-notice requests from the Production Director - whether it’s a pro team move or a new tech launch.
- Trend Adaptation: Constantly monitor social trends and suggest creative ways to adapt them for our cycling audience.
- Platform Expertise: Become the go-to expert on platform requirements, video tagging, and publishing best practices (YouTube, IG, FB, TikTok).
- Workflow Management: Use production tools like Trello to manage a high-volume, rapid-turnaround schedule.
- Commercial Integration: Implement our approach to working with brand partners, ensuring commercial content feels organic and engaging.
- Off-Road Obsession: A deep passion for MTB and E-MTB. You need to know your "derailleur" from your "dropper post" and your "Classics" from your "Crankworx."
- Rapid Editing: The ability to cut high-energy video quickly in Adobe Premiere Pro without losing the narrative.
- Visual Flair: An eye for what looks good on a small screen - lighting, framing, and on-screen graphics.
- Team Player: Motivated to collaborate with the wider Audience Development and Editorial teams in the Bath office.
- Software: Strong foundational knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro is essential.
- Creative Suite: Familiarity with After Effects, Photoshop, or Illustrator is a significant advantage.
- Languages: Ability to understand/speak German, French, Spanish, or Italian is a bonus for our international growth.
- Media Law: A basic understanding of copyright and brand safety.
- Short-Form Content: Proven experience (professional or personal) in creating engaging vertical video content.
- Pace: Experience working to tight deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Cycling Background: A background in cycling or mountain biking is a distinct advantage - we want people who "get" the sport.
- Schedule: Primarily Monday to Friday, based in our Bath office. Some flexibility is required for key events; any additional hours are agreed in advance with TOIL (time off in lieu) available.
