About us - Play PDL

Join Melton Mowbray's flagship padel and wellbeing hub – a brand new renovated space where sport, health, and community come together. Under one roof you’ll find:

  • Pilates and movement studio
  • Coffee shop
  • Health clinic
  • Co-working space, meeting room, podcast studio
  • A growing calendar of events, socials, and workshops

Our vision is to become Melton’s beacon of wellbeing and a genuine community hub - especially for women, children, older adults and people with disabilities.

The Role: Club Host

We're looking for people who naturally create energy around them. The type of person who remembers names, welcomes newcomers, introduces people to each other and makes everyone feel part of something special. You don’t need to be a padel expert. We care more about who you are:

  • Natural host – you notice the person on their own, the nervous first-timer, the small detail that makes someone’s day.
  • Playing padel with customers (no experience needed yet – training provided)
  • Team player – you like working with others, jump in where needed, and work closely with everyone on site.
  • Community-minded – you care about inclusion and want to help people feel they belong. You'll connect members, introduce people to one another, form groups, and create that "everyone belongs here" feeling. Support events where required.
  • Energetic and proactive – you don’t wait to be told; you see what needs doing and do it.
  • Comfortable with soft selling – you can talk positively about what we offer without being pushy, spot opportunities to upsell or genuinely add value, and handle enquiries and bookings.
  • Digitally aware – social media savvy, able to engage our community. Be happy to be a visible face of the brand on-site and online, helping create content: photos, short videos, stories, and posts that showcase our hub.
  • Serving light hospitality (training provided)

If you've worked in hospitality, sport, fitness, events, retail, community organisations or simply love bringing people together, we'd love to hear from you. You’ll be one of the faces of the hub – proud to represent us and, if you wish, to grow your own personal brand alongside ours.

Full paid training provided – in padel, hosting, our systems, safeguarding and our wellbeing approach. Ongoing development in customer experience, leadership, inclusion and community building. Clear pathway into management roles – both at this site and in future locations or within the wider organisation (e.g. operations, community programmes, events, marketing). Our ambition is to grow to 10 sites within the next three years. Opportunities to develop as a coach, community lead, or content/brand ambassador, depending on your strengths and interests.

What We Offer

  • The chance to be part of a flagship wellbeing hub from day one.
  • A supportive, ambitious team with a real sense of purpose.
  • A role where you can combine sport, community, hospitality and creativity.
  • Employee benefits package, including an annual health check.
  • Weekends off (for Mon–Fri applicants)
