Are you looking for a new career opportunity in Facilities Engineering? Expleo is recruiting Facility Engineers to join our team on-site with a major automotive supplier. In this role, you will ideally have broad-based experience in manufacturing and represent the Engineering Department in all aspects of designing, developing, and implementing solutions to control dynamic battery manufacturing systems. This position is based at our client's site in Sunderland and can be offered on either a contract or permanent basis.
Responsibilities for the Facility Engineer role include:
- Supporting integration, commissioning, and acceptance testing activities.
- Project managing the delivery of control system projects through appointed system integrators.
- Supporting the installation, commissioning, in-service troubleshooting, and modification of systems.
- Implementing control software and performing verification using simulation tools and real-time test environments.
- Liaising with suppliers to source the most effective hardware or software solutions in line with the business's needs.
- Supporting project-specific safety documentation to relevant standard requirements, including IEC61508, IEC61511, and EN ISO 13849.
- Demonstrating excellence in programming PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications, supporting system concept design, including drafting diagrams and sourcing components.
Skills and experience required for the Facility Engineer role:
- Degree/HND/HNC and/or 5 years of relevant experience in Electrical/Control Engineering.
- Professional experience in PLC programming, including Mitsubishi, Siemens, and BECKHOFF platforms.
- Experience in structured software programming to a recognised standard in LDR, ST/SCL, and FBD logic.
- Excellent knowledge of modern SCADA platforms and a good working knowledge of network design.
- Planning, schedule control, and project management.
- Strong understanding of the design principles related to electrical systems and software engineering.
- Knowledge of mass-manufacturing automatic systems, including experience with motion, vision, robotic, and sensing technologies, and the associated data acquisition of those systems.
