Hey, we\’re Platypus 👋 A small PPC agency based in Gateshead specialising in Google + Facebook Ads. We’re in need of a Paid Media Specialist (£27k) to help us create click-worthy ads that drive results for our wonderful clients.
Ideally you\’ll have 12 months\’ experience behind you (in either Google Ads or Facebook Ads) and know your RoAS from your CPA. You\’ll be confident with Google Analytics, Google Sheets and formulas like vlookups won\’t scare you. But most importantly you’ve got to be a glass-half-full person who’s super curious, creative and loves testing new things.
At Platypus Media we help businesses grow by delivering Google + Facebook ads that work–swimmingly well. We work with some of the loveliest people on the planet and have a lot of fun creating, testing and analysing ads. Our wonderful clients are from a range of different industries including kid’s toys & clothing, fashion, education, charities, professional bodies and even builders merchants.
As a Paid Media Specialist you’ll spend your days planning and creating ad campaigns for clients that get them closer to their business goals. A typical week will include chatting with clients about their products/services and ad performance, researching competitors, reviewing audiences and keywords, as well as writing ad copy and coming up with new ad creatives. You\’ll be responsible for monitoring budgets and ad performance, and you\’ll get to create insightful and actionable reports for clients, too. We\’re all about testing at Platypus, so analysing data will be second nature to you and always trying to improve performance will be in your dna.
Want to dive in deeper? Here\’s a look at the role responsibilities and success profile.
Why Platypus?
Let’s be honest, this is likely the first time you’ve even heard of this little company, so why would you want to work here? Hopefully this helps….
Four Day Working Week
Thursdays are the new Fridays, yep that’s right, our working week is only four days. Best thing is you don’t have to cram five days into four either, standard working week is 30 hours, 9:30am to 5pm.
Flexible Working
There’s a desk with your name on it at our office in Gateshead, but if you prefer working from home, that’s cool too.
Room to Grow
You’ll get time (and budget) to work on your personal development. Whether that’s time spent reading the latest industry books/blogs, online training or heading to a conference. You’ll get the support you need to be your best.
Pets are Welcome
The office may be small but it’s pet friendly! Yep, you can bring your pup to the office with you or if you’re working from home, a video call appearance from your furry friend would be ace. We currently have two resident office dogs, Kona & Milo, who love tennis balls and belly rubs.
Work/Life Balance
Whilst marketing isn’t physically demanding, it is mentally challenging and being able to rest and recharge is essential. You won’t be guilted into any evening or weekend work (isn’t that the worst!), but on the occasion that overtime’s available—it’ll be completely your choice and you’ll be paid for it. We believe everyone deserves paid sick leave and you’ll get 5 weeks paid leave each year plus bank holidays.
Sound like you? We\’d love to hear from you!
