What You'll Do
As a Maintenance Engineer Apprentice, you will work alongside our experienced Maintenance and Facilities team to develop the skills and knowledge needed to maintain our manufacturing equipment, facilities and working environment.
You will gain hands‑on experience supporting planned preventive maintenance (PPM), responding to equipment breakdowns, carrying out repairs, and maintaining machinery, tools and site facilities.
Throughout your apprenticeship you will learn a wide range of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and joinery skills while working closely with colleagues, managers and external contractors to ensure the business operates safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Maintenance & Facilities team.
- Work with team leaders and managers.
- Maintain weld booths, prep bays, test bays and air line repairs as required.
- Clean weld, prep and test bays.
- Clean and repair weld sets, hand tools, ducting and lights.
- Repair and replace air lines in bays.
- Repair and replace welder torches in bays.
- Repair and replace hand tools in bays.
- Assist in day‑to‑day reactive work and breakdowns.
- Help maintain the PPM schedule on machinery.
- Assist with the upkeep of building and grounds.
- Assist maintenance in machinery repairs.
- Learn new skills and techniques on mechanical and electrical repairs.
- Assist in different aspects of joinery, plumbing, electrical and mechanical work.
