We are partnering with an innovative and fast-growing renewable energy business. The organisation operates at the intersection of sustainability and industrial processes, converting waste from production into renewable energy. With strong backing from an established parent group, the business is scaling rapidly and expanding into new markets.
This is a key, hands-on leadership role, reporting to the HR Director, with responsibility for shaping and delivering efficient, compliant, and people-focused HR operations across both corporate and operational environments. You will lead a small team (2 direct reports) and take ownership of the HR systems (HiBob), driving optimisation, implementing new modules, and improving processes. The role also oversees the HR central service, including policy implementation, onboarding and offboarding, and day-to-day HR operations.
A critical aspect of this position is the opportunity to build and evolve the role in line with business growth. The organisation is in a constant state of change, so we are looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is comfortable creating structure where needed. Experience in a start-up or high-growth setting is highly desirable, along with a strong, process-driven approach and the ability to bring stakeholders on that journey. While experience in manufacturing or operational environments would be advantageous, it is not essential. However, you should be comfortable working in a 24/7 operational business, including an understanding of shift patterns, night operations, and call-out arrangements.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in HR Operations or People Operations leadership roles
- Experience using HiBob (essential)
- Background in start-up, scale-up, or high-growth environments
- Strong process design and continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- There is occasional travel required (2–3 times per year within the UK).
This is an exciting opportunity to join a purpose-driven organisation at a pivotal stage of growth, with significant scope to shape the people function and make a lasting impact. We regret that due to volume only suitable candidates will be contacted.
