Platinum Search Recruitment is working with a well-established building and electrical contractor in the Essex region currently recruiting for an experienced Fire Alarm Installation Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
Hours of Work: Full Time Monday to Friday
Location: Must be located within a commutable distance to Southend On Sea
Salary range: £17.51 to £18.38 based on experience and qualifications. In addition, there is an on-call rota 1 week in 9, with overtime and weekends available if required.
You will need strong all round fire alarm experience to ensure compliance with industry standards and to provide excellent customer service. Working on commercial and domestic properties, you will be installing and maintaining fire alarm systems including fault finding and carrying out repairs, either alone or as part of a team on larger contracts when needed.

Requirements:
- Full driving licence
- Good working knowledge of BS5839 Part-1:2025
- Experience of working with fire alarm systems
- Good knowledge of fire safety regulations
- Interest in continually learning, keeping up to date with regulations and qualifications
- Carrying out servicing to the requirements and specifications of BAFE SP203-1
- FIA units for the maintenance, service and design
- Full understanding of electronic and electrical applications, being able to interpret building plans and CAD drawings
- Self-motivated, organised and have good communication skills
- Excellent fault-finding diagnostic skills
- Good record keeping
- Satisfactory IT skills
- ECS or CSCS card an advantage
