With turnover nearing £5 million and a reputation for excellence, the business is searching for someone who wants to make a genuine impact - someone who can be both strategic and hands-on.
This is more than just managing the numbers. You'll be embedded in the leadership team, working shoulder to shoulder with the Managing Director to shape the company's financial path and support long-term growth. The business has been completely overhauled over the last few years to a modern and slick operation.
Your Responsibilities:
- Take complete responsibility for the finance department - from transactional processes through to month-end and board-level reporting.
- Provide commercial and financial insight directly to the MD, influencing key business decisions.
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance to ensure strong control and forward visibility.
- Oversee and support a small, capable transactional finance team.
- Be involved in the day-to-day running of the business; this is a role for someone who enjoys variety and ownership.
- Introduce process improvements and scalable systems to support future expansion.
What You'll Bring:
- Background in an SME where you've managed the full finance cycle and understand the fast-paced, multi-tasking nature of smaller businesses.
- Confidence in advising senior leadership, with the ability to simplify financial information for decision-makers.
- A proactive mindset - you don't wait to be asked, you step in and take the lead.
- Someone comfortable being in the detail and rolling up their sleeves when needed.
