Key Responsibilities
As a General Building Operative, you’ll play an important part in keeping the site safe, tidy and well maintained by:
- Carrying out a variety of Building maintenance tasks across the site
- Supporting skilled trades with repair and maintenance projects
- Completing general decorating, minor repairs, furniture assembly and other practical maintenance duties
- Reporting defects and ensuring equipment, fixtures and facilities remain in good working order
- Assisting with site upkeep, including external areas when required
- Providing support for contractors and helping maintain a safe working environment
- Undertaking a range of Facilities Maintenance duties as required to support the wider team
What we’re looking for
We’re keen to hear from candidates who have:
- Previous experience in general property repairs, Building maintenance, or similar hands‑on work
- Good practical DIY skills and the ability to complete a variety of maintenance tasks
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team while managing your own workload
- Strong time management and a reliable approach to work
- A relevant trade qualification or CITB certification would be advantageous but isn’t essential
