The Role
As a School Caretaker, you'll be responsible for the day‑to‑day maintenance and upkeep of the school sites, including:
- Carrying out general porterage duties
- Completing basic repairs and maintenance
- Tidying playgrounds and external areas
- Emptying bins and maintaining cleanliness across the sites
- Painting and decorating during school holidays
- Liaising with contractors attending site
- Carrying out statutory compliance checks
- Opening school buildings each morning
- Ensuring the sites remain safe and well‑presented at all times
What We're Looking For
To be successful, you'll have:
- Previous experience working as a School Caretaker or in a similar facilities or maintenance role
- Experience carrying out statutory building compliance checks
- Good practical maintenance and repair skills
- A proactive and organised approach
- Excellent communication skills when dealing with contractors and school staff
- A full Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
- Full compliance and right to work documentation
- A full UK driving licence would be advantageous due to travelling between sites
