Why choose our Client?

Less than 3 miles from Looe town centre, our client is a luxury 4-star hotel with sea views, offering glorious views of the South Cornwall coastline. The boutique hotel boasts a 2 AA Rosette fine dining restaurant, with a burning desire to achieve a 3rd Rosette in the future. Their talented team of chefs use local, seasonal ingredients to prepare dishes for lunch, dinner, afternoon tea, Sunday lunch and a tasting menu. Live-in accommodation is available with this position for those relocating from outside the Looe area, and is a stone's throw from the hotel.

What’s involved?

As an experienced Pastry Chef, you will deliver an unforgettable dining experience using high-quality, fresh ingredients. Working to a 2 AA Rosette standard, you will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the pastry section; from mise en place to plating. Everything at the hotel is made in house—from breads to cakes and everything in between—so the successful candidate must be confident in their ability to do this with exceptional attention to detail. Afternoon tea is popular at this hotel. You will create recipes and costings for each dish, and develop desserts for a variety of menus to the same exacting standard. You must be a team player with a positive attitude, willing to help colleagues in other kitchen sections and roll up your sleeves to wash up when needed. You’ll complete tasks in a timely manner without compromising on quality, striving for perfection on every plate. Previous hotel experience is preferred. Applicants should have at least 2 years of fine dining kitchen experience or equivalent.
