Finance Manager

A successful service-sector SME in Altrincham is looking for a commercially astute Finance Manager to take ownership of its finance function. With consistent double-digit growth and an ambitious leadership team, this business is on the rise and they're searching for someone ready to grow with them. You won't be stuck behind spreadsheets, you'll be part of the senior leadership team, working alongside the Managing Director and department heads to shape strategy, improve processes, and drive business performance. The company has invested heavily in tech, people, and culture over the last 12 months, creating a forward-thinking, modern environment that genuinely values finance as a strategic partner.

Your Responsibilities:

• Take full ownership of the finance function - from transactional finance to month-end reporting and strategic planning.
• Business partner with department heads and the MD to drive decision-making and commercial performance.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial modelling.
• Manage and develop a small, capable finance team.
• Deliver process improvements and automation projects to create a scalable finance operation.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Bring:

• Experience in an SME or service-based environment, managing the end-to-end finance cycle.
• A hands-on attitude with a track record of improving systems, controls, and reporting.
• Strong communication skills - able to influence non-finance stakeholders and simplify the complex.
• A proactive, can-do mindset; you take the initiative and drive change.
• Either qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or part qualified.
