Temporary (Approx 24 weeks) £13.69 per hour, Part time 17.5 hours per week.
Main Purpose: Deal with the public, in person and by telephone in accordance with the council’s Customer Care Standards, dealing with first-hand client enquiries, problems, difficulties or complaints and record as appropriate to ensure a high level of customer service provision.
Main Roles and Responsibilities:
- Operate a range of computerised booking/cash and room hire systems and undertake the uploading and maintenance of all Arts Service season programme information to the computerised Box Office system and update and maintain the live events sections of the council’s websites for all Arts Service events and activities.
- Provide administrative support for the Arts Service including the maintenance of customer databases; coalition and evaluation of customer satisfaction surveys and additional features of the computerised Box Office system, such as market research and marketing activities for the promotion of the Arts Service, including telesales and audience development initiatives.
- Promote all Arts Service events and activities and other council services and special events and assist at events, as required.
- Assist with the security of exhibitions and other assets of the council by being vigilant and reporting occurrences to the Arts Administration Coordinator, Arts Administration Assistant or daily Duty Officer, undertaking the handling and selling of related goods and services.
- Undertake the opening/closing of ISLAND Arts Centre in conjunction with the Arts Attendant ensuring the venue is prepared for all programmed activities and events.
- Ensure all Health & Safety legislation, published relevant guidelines and council Health & Safety policies and procedures are complied with in relation to the services and activities within ISLAND Arts Centre.
- Participation in the interchange of duties to cover staff breaks, sickness, leave and staff vacancies, etc.; working shift patterns and unsociable hours when required.
Essential Criteria:
- Five GCSE passes at Grade A-C, NVQ Level 2 in administration or equivalent.
- One year’s experience in a customer service environment or receptionist post. Where applicants do not hold the qualifications as outlined, they must demonstrate a minimum of three years’ experience as outlined.
