Company Accountant £40,000–£45,000Rochdale
Are you an experienced accountant who enjoys taking ownership and wants to become a key part of a growing business?
We're looking for a Company Accountant to join a business where the role will be about much more than keeping the accounts up to date.
This is an opportunity for someone who can take the financial headaches away from the MD, provide clear visibility on the numbers and help the business make better decisions.
You'll take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, working closely with the MD across management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow.
You'll be expected to understand the numbers, not simply report them, identifying issues early and highlighting opportunities to improve profitability and control costs.
A key part of the role will also be bringing more of the finance function in-house and reducing reliance on external accountants.
You'll prepare accurate records, reconciliations and year-end information, giving the external accountants everything they need and helping to reduce the overall accountancy bill.
You'll also oversee areas such as VAT, purchase and sales ledger, bank reconciliations, financial reporting and general financial controls, while helping to improve processes as the business continues to grow.
We're looking for someone who is commercially minded, organised and confident enough to challenge and advise the MD.
You'll need to be comfortable working independently, spotting problems before they become headaches and turning financial information into something the wider business can actually use.
This is a great opportunity for a Company Accountant who wants genuine ownership, commercial exposure and the chance to make a visible difference within a business.
