Senior Accountant

Manchester City Centre

£45,000 - £50,000

Some firms give you a desk, a portfolio and a list of deadlines.

This one gives you autonomy, freedom and a chance to progress to management!

You'll join an established practice with a high-quality portfolio of clients, taking real ownership of your work and becoming a trusted point of contact across a broad range of accounting and tax matters.

You'll work closely with a highly experienced, qualified manager who knows their stuff, gives you the autonomy to get on with it, and is someone you can genuinely learn from. It's a strong technical environment, but without the corporate feel or layers of management.

The role:

  • Manage a portfolio of established and highly regarded clients
  • Take ownership of year-end and statutory accounts
  • Prepare and review personal and corporation tax returns
  • Complete VAT returns
  • Prepare management accounts
  • Act as a key point of contact for your clients
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
  • Manage your own workload and deadlines
  • Work closely with senior management on more complex client requirements
  • Continue developing your technical expertise and commercial understanding

Why this one?

Because you're not just taking on another portfolio.

You're joining a firm where the quality of the clients, the calibre of the people around you and the level of responsibility you'll have genuinely stand out.

You'll have a manager who is qualified, hugely knowledgeable and excellent to work alongside, while having the seniority and autonomy to make the role your own.

The non-negotiable: you must have a background in accountancy practice and be a finalist or newly qualified accountant who has managed their own portfolio previously.
