For part qualified/finalist Management Accountants, this role cannot be beaten in terms of opportunity, career development and commerciality. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, they are looking to hire a Management Accountant who possesses genuine ambition and have created this role with 3 clear phases of development.
- Phase 1: To build your understanding of the two trading companies (combined t/o £25m), how they are operating and how this feeds into your responsibilities as Management Accountant. You will manage the full month end schedule, produce the management accounts pack with commentary, hold responsibility for budget and cash flow management and forecasting.
- Phase 2: Take more work from the Group FD, present in month end board meetings, preparation of the quarterly and annual budgets, work with the key commercial heads to increase understanding and manage the transactional finance team.
- Phase 3: Make the Group FD's input obsolete, essentially grow your responsibilities far beyond management accounting and show yourself operating at Financial Controller status; they will reward you in title, package and progression.
Whilst completing all the above phases, you will be supported, encouraged and tasked with completing your professional qualifications (ACCA/CIMA). For context, there is no other person in the business between you and the Group FD, so you will have the job and the keys to the castle. That’s how they view it, so they want energy, passion, and hunger to achieve from the new Management Accountant. Without this, the business won't progress at their current rate.
The business culture is dynamic; every employee acts like they’re owners of their function and everyone celebrates the rewards of success together at the monthly nights out, team building weekends & annual trips. Alongside this, they have a huge benefits package including 28 days annual leave plus BH, healthcare, death in service, full study contract for ACCA or CIMA (exam day and study day per exam). Opportunities such as this need to be grasped as it gives the new Management Accountant a clear route of development rarely provided with such clarity.
