Why choose our Client?

Set just a few miles from the centre of Gloucester, our client is a beautiful country house hotel in the Cotswolds. The restaurant serves an average of 60-70 covers per day, offering a straightforward, well-executed menu supported by spec sheets. While the dishes are set, our client encourages their chefs to add their own flair to the presentation - because people really do eat with their eyes first!

Alongside the restaurant, you'll also support a busy Conference & Banqueting operation, delivering weddings and events for up to 200 guests using established menus.

What's involved?

As a Sous Chef with at least 2 years' worth of previous leadership experience within a hotel environment, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen, as well as leading the team in their absence and assisting with the kitchen rotas.

The Sous Chef will be passionate about producing consistently high-quality food and will ensure that all food is prepared and served in line with the company's brand standards, using the spec sheets provided. You will assist with the development of seasonal menus, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness throughout the kitchen at all times. The Sous Chef will have strong organisational and stock management skills whilst also promoting a safe working environment through Health & Safety compliance, hazard reporting and accident procedures. You will be involved in the training and development of the kitchen team, supporting colleague performance reviews and development objectives.

You will ensure full compliance with food safety legislation and company policies, as well as maintaining and reviewing all required food safety documentation and ASC sheets.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced hotel chef with at least 2 years' worth of previous leadership experience and knowledge of Procure Wizard would be an advantage.

Please note, this is a temp-to-perm Sous Chef opportunity, giving the Sous Chef the chance to ensure the hotel is right for you before committing long term. An immediate start is preferable.

If you're looking for a Sous Chef role where you can lead from the front, develop your career, work with a supportive team and create dishes you're proud to send out, we'd love to hear from you.
