Platinum Employment is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Temporary Senior Carer to join our client\’s dedicated team in Basingstoke. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and skilled individual to make a significant impact on the lives of others while enjoying competitive pay and weekly payments.

As a Senior Carer in Basingstoke, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality personal care and support to residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being are maintained at all times. You will lead by example, mentor junior staff, and assist with the smooth running of shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care to residents, including assistance with washing, dressing, mobility, and mealtimes.
  • Administer medication in accordance with training and policy.
  • Complete accurate and detailed care plans and daily records, including using EMARS.
  • Supervise and support junior care staff, offering guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide first aid when necessary.
  • Promote a safe and supportive environment for residents and colleagues.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety, infection control, and safeguarding.
  • Assist with activities and promote social engagement for residents.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Carer or in a similar leadership role within a care setting.
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service OR willingness to complete a new DBS through Platinum Employment (the certificate will then be yours to keep).
  • Must hold valid certificates for the following:
    • First Aid
    • Mental Capacity Act
    • Moving and Handling
    • Medication Administration
    • Food Hygiene Level 1
    • Health and Safety
    • Infection Control
    • Safeguarding Adults
    • Information Governance
    • OR a full and valid Care Certificate covering all the above modules.
  • Experience using Electronic Medication Administration Records (EMARS) is essential.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
  • Must be able to commute to Basingstoke for your shifts.
