Mobile Forklift Engineer - Manchester | Up to £42,000 + Company Vehicle

We are recruiting for an experienced Mobile Forklift Engineer to join an established team in Manchester, covering customer sites across the surrounding area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled engineer with forklift, materials handling or similar mechanical engineering experience to work on a range of modern forklift equipment, with access to manufacturer training, technical support and experienced colleagues.
As a Mobile Forklift Engineer, you'll be responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on customer machinery, ensuring equipment is operating safely and reliably.

Key Responsibilities
- Travel to customer sites across Manchester and the surrounding areas
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on forklift trucks
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Use laptop-based diagnostic systems to identify and resolve faults
- Complete planned maintenance, breakdowns and inspections
- Complete chargeable, warranty and internal repairs to a high standard
- Maintain accurate service records and job sheets
- Provide professional technical support and excellent customer service
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
- Participate in weekend cover and additional hours on a rota
What we're looking for
- Previous experience as a Forklift Engineer, Plant Fitter, Field Service Engineer, Agricultural Engineer or similar
- Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
- Experience working with hydraulic and electrical systems
- Experience servicing and repairing forklift trucks or similar materials handling equipment
- Good diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
- A proactive approach and the ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A full UK driving licence
- The ability to manage a busy workload and respond effectively to customer requirements
