Key Responsibilities:

  • Help manage the smooth and efficient movement of consignments through the gateway, ensuring customer requirements, operational deadlines and regulatory standards are consistently met.
  • Coordinate vehicles collecting and delivering consignments from airlines
  • Manage the flow of consignments arriving and departing the gateway
  • Ensure shipments are processed accurately, safely and securely
  • Complete customs reporting and required operational documentation
  • Raise records within the ETSF and discharge T1s from overnight deliveries
  • Maintain accurate data within internal operating systems
  • Ensure daily schedules and operational deadlines are achieved
  • Monitor invoicing, job costing, CIA, netting and milestones
  • Resolve queries from customers and suppliers professionally
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers
  • Follow strict SOPs, KPIs and regulatory requirements
  • Support cost control and internal and external rate reviews
  • Ensure best-practice processes are followed across the department
  • Use Microsoft Office and internal systems as required

What we're looking for:

  • You'll be organised, commercially aware and confident working in a time-sensitive environment where accuracy and customer service are essential.
  • Previous experience within freight forwarding, logistics or a similar service environment
  • Knowledge of import/export procedures
  • Experience within gateway, consolidation or airline operations would be advantageous
  • Understanding of DfT/CAA, HMRC and IATA regulations
  • Confident using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised with a systematic and methodical approach
  • Able to manage your own workload and meet strict deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Self-motivated, professional and enthusiastic
  • A genuine desire to learn, develop and progress within the freight industry
  • Strong team player who can build positive relationships with customers and colleagues
