Lead a six-site school portfolio with a £45,000 salary, company car and excellent benefits.
We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take on a key 6-month fixed-term position across Dumfries & Galloway.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Facilities Manager or Operations Manager to lead service delivery across six school sites, managing both Hard and Soft FM services and a skilled operational team.
You'll play a key role in maintaining high standards across the portfolio, building strong stakeholder relationships and ensuring compliance, safety and customer satisfaction remain at the heart of service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
As Operations Manager, you'll take ownership of operational performance across the six-site portfolio, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently and to agreed standards.
- Manage operational performance in line with service level agreements and KPIs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
- Act as the escalation point for customer issues and ensure effective resolution.
- Attend monthly meetings with school business managers and clients.
- Manage budgets and support the delivery of revenue targets.
- Coordinate suppliers and ensure works are completed on time and within budget.
- Provide direct line management to caretakers and cleaning staff.
- Lead the Health & Safety culture through toolbox talks, safety briefings and safety bulletins.
- Complete monthly compliance audits across Hard FM and cleaning services.
- Support consistent service delivery across all six school sites.
What we're looking for
We're looking for an experienced Facilities Manager or Operations Manager with a strong background in multi-site facilities management and operational leadership.
- Proven Operations Management experience with responsibility for KPI delivery.
- Experience managing Hard and Soft FM services across multiple locations.
- Strong understanding of service delivery plans, policies, procedures and operational systems.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements including Fire Risk Assessments, Legionella, Asbestos, CDM and contractor control.
- Excellent planning, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
- Confident managing teams, suppliers and customer relationships.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CAFM systems.
- Experience of IOSH and PFI contracts is highly desirable.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
