What's involved?
As Deputy General Manager, you will serve as the senior on-site operational leader during your shifts, taking direct responsibility for the day-to-day running of the property and reporting directly to the General Manager.
- Operational Floor Leadership: Run daily operational shifts across front office, food and beverage, housekeeping, and maintenance, ensuring guest standards are consistently delivered.
- Team & Rota Management: Build, schedule, and adjust departmental rotas, leading onboarding and induction for permanent and seasonal staff.
- Housekeeping & Maintenance: Conduct regular room inspections across all grades and manage the property maintenance log to ensure swift resolution of issues.
- Compliance & Logistics: Oversee daily health and safety, fire safety, food hygiene, and licensing compliance while coordinating supplier deliveries and stock control.
- Shift Handover & Reporting: Manage daily shift briefings, key holder duties, and emergency out-of-hours coverage on a rota basis, supporting PMS occupancy and revenue reporting for ownership.

For this position, we are looking for candidates who possess:
- Proven Operational Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in a DGM, Operations Manager, or Senior Duty Management role within a 25-70 room hotel environment.
- Leadership Style: A calm, practical approach with the confidence to run multi-departmental operations with minimal supervision.
- Coastal / Seasonal Understanding: Prior experience in a coastal or seasonal hotel environment (preferred).
- Compliance Awareness: Working knowledge of health & safety, fire safety, and food hygiene regulations (Level 3 Food Hygiene or IOSH preferred).
- Career Ambition: The drive to take on increasing autonomy and progress toward a General Manager role over time.
