The Role:

As an HGV Vehicle Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining a diverse fleet of vehicles & equipment, ensuring they remain safe, roadworthy & operating efficiently. Your duties will include:

  • Servicing, maintaining & repairing commercial vehicles
  • Diagnosing faults using modern diagnostic equipment
  • Carrying out inspections, safety checks & preventative maintenance
  • Preparing vehicles for MOT & compliance inspections
  • Completing electronic job sheets & maintenance records
  • Working in line with Health & Safety procedures & Operator Licence requirements
  • Supporting apprentices & sharing your technical knowledge
  • Working collaboratively to keep the fleet operating at its best

You'll work on a wide range of vehicles including:

  • Refuse collection vehicles
  • Road sweepers
  • HGVs
  • Vans & light commercial vehicles
  • Tractors
  • Trailers
  • Specialist municipal equipment

What we're looking for:

To be successful you'll have:

  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
  • Previous experience within a commercial vehicle workshop
  • Strong fault-finding & diagnostic skills
  • Experience working on HGVs or municipal fleet vehicles
