The Role:
As an HGV Vehicle Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining a diverse fleet of vehicles & equipment, ensuring they remain safe, roadworthy & operating efficiently. Your duties will include:
- Servicing, maintaining & repairing commercial vehicles
- Diagnosing faults using modern diagnostic equipment
- Carrying out inspections, safety checks & preventative maintenance
- Preparing vehicles for MOT & compliance inspections
- Completing electronic job sheets & maintenance records
- Working in line with Health & Safety procedures & Operator Licence requirements
- Supporting apprentices & sharing your technical knowledge
- Working collaboratively to keep the fleet operating at its best
You'll work on a wide range of vehicles including:
- Refuse collection vehicles
- Road sweepers
- HGVs
- Vans & light commercial vehicles
- Tractors
- Trailers
- Specialist municipal equipment
What we're looking for:
To be successful you'll have:
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
- Previous experience within a commercial vehicle workshop
- Strong fault-finding & diagnostic skills
- Experience working on HGVs or municipal fleet vehicles
