Catering Assistant – £15.07 per hour | Immediate Start | 2-Week Placement
Looking for immediate work over the next two weeks? We’re looking for a Catering Assistant to join a busy café within a popular retail setting in Newport. This is a great opportunity for someone with hospitality or customer service experience looking for short-term work.
You’ll join a friendly catering team, supporting the day-to-day running of the café and helping to provide a welcoming and efficient service to customers. The role includes a mixture of front of house and kitchen duties, from serving customers and preparing food through to cleaning and washing up.

Key Responsibilities
As a Catering Assistant, you will:
- Serve customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Help prepare and set up food and refreshments
- Support with counter and front of house service
- Assist with general kitchen duties and washing up
- Keep customer and kitchen areas clean and well organised
- Restock food, drinks and other supplies as required
- Work as part of an established catering team
- Work 5 days per week, including weekends when required
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in catering, hospitality, retail or a customer-facing environment
- Is confident serving customers in a busy environment
- Is comfortable carrying out both front of house and kitchen duties
- Is reliable, friendly and hardworking
- Is flexible and happy to work weekends when required
- Can commit to the full 2-week placement
- Is available to start immediately
