About Our Client:

We are delighted to be working in partnership with our client in Newbury, West Berkshire, seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Worker to join their team. Our client is committed to providing high-quality services to children and families, ensuring their safety and well-being. The Package includes:

  • Salary up to £48,500 DOE
  • 29 days annual leave + Bank Holidays (37 days in total)

Role Overview:

The successful Social Worker will manage a comprehensive caseload for young people under the age of 18. This role involves working in close partnership with the Local Authority, parents and carers, the MASH Team, Social Services, and various external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse and complex caseload of young people under the age of 18 including Prepare and present reports for court and other meetings.
  • Work in partnership with the Local Authority, Parents & carers, the MASH Team, Social Services and external agencies involved with the young person.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with the clients policies and procedures.
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, and training.
  • Cover areas such as Thatcham, Newbury, Farnborough, and any other areas which fall under West Berkshire.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must hold a valid Social Worker qualification, Registration with Social Work England (not essential as the client will pay for this)
  • Demonstrable experience of working as a Social Worker, preferably within a children and families setting and the ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989, Children Act 2004, and other relevant legal frameworks.
  • Strong assessment, planning, intervention, and review skills with a commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children.
  • Ability to attend meetings in West Berkshire and outside of the area if required.
  • You must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a car and the willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
